IQ Students – Coventry

Located in the heart of Coventry, Weaver Place is a major student accommodation development providing 823 bedrooms across three towers of 20, 11 and 10 storeys, together with extensive communal and amenity spaces.

Gamma was appointed to deliver the labour only second fix carpentry package across the development. Our scope included the installation of BM TRADA certified fire doors, associated ironmongery, skirting and window boards throughout the bedrooms, corridors and communal areas.

With more than 800 bedrooms spread across three separate towers, managing labour, sequencing and progress across the different work areas was a key part of the delivery. Our site team worked closely with the principal contractor and surrounding trades to coordinate the works as floors were released and maintain progress against the wider construction programme.

Fire door installation formed a significant part of our package, with our teams working to ensure each doorset was installed in accordance with the relevant certification, manufacturer requirements and project specification.

The scale and multi block nature of Weaver Place required careful planning and consistent site management throughout. The project is a strong example of Gamma’s experience delivering major carpentry packages across large student accommodation developments while maintaining quality, compliance and programme through to completion.
