Hampton by Hilton - City of London

Hampton by Hilton London City was a particularly complex project, delivered across two separate phases and comprising a total of 278 guestrooms.

The first phase involved the extensive refurbishment of the existing hotel, bringing the challenges that come with working within an existing building and adapting the design around the constraints of the original structure. The second phase introduced a new build element, requiring our team to coordinate the bedroom package across two very different parts of the development.

One of the biggest challenges was the number of room configurations. Due to the complex nature of the existing structure and the restrictions of a tight city centre footprint, our design team developed over 62 individual room types to maximise the available space while maintaining the required functionality, finish and Hilton brand standards.

This required a significant level of design development and coordination before manufacture, with the bedroom furniture carefully adapted to suit the different layouts and site conditions while still maintaining a consistent appearance across all 278 guestrooms.

The project is a strong example of Gamma’s design capability and our ability to take a complex bedroom package with a high number of variations and successfully turn it into a coordinated manufacturing and installation programme at scale.
